Northrop/McDonnell Douglas YF-23 prototype multi-purpose fighter of the fifth
generation, developed by Northrop Grumman and McDonnell Douglas. The company has built two aircraft — "Black widow II" (Engl. Black Widow II), and "Grey Ghost" (eng. Grey Ghost). The prototype YF-23 lost the competition to YF-22, which entered service in the U.S. air force in 2005.
